Nordkapp Enduro 830: Top 3 daytrip features

Three friends explore this Scandinavian centre console boat

By Patrik Westli, Creative Director at Nordkapp Boats

My friends have been working hard all year, so I treated them to a full day of unwinding aboard our latest centre console, the Nordkapp Enduro 830. What they didn't know: I was quietly collecting their top three daytrip features along the way.

Join us on a summer's day in the Norwegian archipelago.

The setup

  • Mercury Verado V10 425hp

  • T-top configuration

  • Dune interior and matching S-deck flooring

  • Twin Simrad chart plotters

  • Bow and stern thrusters

  • Hertz stereo system

  • Pantry and wetbar

  • Aft windlass

Noon, overcast, 30°C

The overcast sky made the T-top unnecessary on our first leg from Høysand to the Hvaler Islands. We detoured through the waterway between Nordre Sandøy and Søndre Sandøy, cruising at 5 knots past cabins tucked between the cliffs, pine and birch.

With space for ten aboard, we had an abundance of room to spread out. One friend claimed the bow sunbed with a book. The other chose the aft-facing sofa, looking back over the small wake. The Mercury V10 idled quietly enough to carry a conversation from opposite ends of the boat.

Eventually the conversation drifted toward food, so we pulled in for lunch at a seafood spot in Skjærhalden Marina.

Refuelled, we pushed further into the archipelago to find somewhere to swim. Blue skies greeted us at the entrance to Tosekilen. This is when a T-top comes in handy. The familiar rattle of chain followed as we dropped anchor with the remote-controlled windlass.

We put the new Hertz stereo on low and easy and let the afternoon run its course with more swimming and a couple of rounds of Yatzy in the aft lounge. Then I finally asked the question I’d been saving all day:

"What's been your favourite Enduro 830 feature today?"

1. The aft lounge invites relaxation and social moments

"Slide the backrest all the way forward, and it has to be the aft lounge area. The sofa faces out, so you get an unobstructed view wherever you're anchored. And the swim platform right there makes it a social space; you can dangle your feet in the water and still be part of the conversation, or jump in when it gets hot," says one of the guys.

The aft sunbed is 2.6 metres wide when folded out. The sliding aft backrest and fold-out side backrests let you customise the space on the fly.

2. The bow sunbed gives you time for yourself

"The bow sunbed's on my list too," one of the guys adds. "Lying down with your eyes closed, just the slight movement from the waves, very relaxing. You've got your own little space up there, nice when you want to doze off for a while. Though on a day like this, sun sails would've been welcome."

The bow sunbed has room for two, with integrated cup holders on each side. The T-top edition lets you add aft and bow sunsails to your Enduro 830.

3. The pantry keeps everything within reach

"I like how accessible the pantry and cooling drawer are. This day wouldn't have been the same without a cold drink in hand. Little things like that make a real difference. Only regret is we didn't bring anything to cook on the stovetop for dinner."

"It looks the part too," the other adds. "Fits naturally into the layout."

The pantry on the Enduro 830 is available with a sink and faucet, a stovetop, and a cupboard. Add a 30-litre cooling drawer to the pantry, plus an additional cooling drawer under the passenger seat. Hot water is an optional feature.

Honourable mention: the T-top

"Air-drying in the shade after a swim was one of my favourite parts of the day. The T-top also wraps around the pantry, so you've got something to hold onto while grabbing a drink on the move. It's an underrated spot to stand and enjoy the ride while cruising."

The T-top adds optional aft and bow sunsails, plus a canopy that turns the cockpit and aft area into a weather-protected wheelhouse.
