The Ferrari of the ocean

Lasse Andresen on his Nordkapp Enduro 705

Chatting with Lasse Andresen reveals a dreamer at heart. Over several decades, he has envisioned many things, from being a rockstar to becoming a successful businessman and owning his favourite boat. Even though his rockstar dreams did not come to fruition, reality often aligns with his imagination. Today, Lasse is a former co-founder of ForgeRock, a leading digital identity company valued at $2.4 billion, and a proud owner of the Nordkapp Enduro 705.

"Boating, for me, is fundamentally a lifesaver"

Lasse has been operating at a high level in business for most of his life, and he still sees no finish line. With a billion-dollar evaluation in his back pocket, he shifted focus to his latest business ventures, Indikite and Indyriot. His work often takes him far from his home in Stavanger, frequently travelling to San Francisco and across Europe. "Some years, I spend over 280 days on the road," he says. Yet, his Enduro 705 offers rejuvenation.

When it's time to hit pause on work, the view of corporate conference rooms transforms into the rich scenery of Stavanger's atmospheric coastline - at the helm of his precious Nordkapp. These moments of tranquillity are essential to maintaining his lifestyle:

"Boating, for me, is fundamentally a lifesaver - after an insane amount of meetings, jumping into my boat, hitting full throttle—the sensation of wind and saltwater spray in your face—it's heaven. And I could not care if anyone tries to call me."

"The boat turns like a train on rails at 50 knots"

Lasse cherishes the sporty driving characteristics of the 7-metre centre console boat. He compares it to a sports car: "It's the Ferrari of the ocean—other boats feel like Bambi on ice at high speeds and bounce even if the sea is flat. In the Enduro 705, I can cut high-speed corners with full control. The boat turns like a train on rails at 50 knots," he says.

Admiring the boat for years, he was drawn by its clean design and centre console layout. "It looks beautiful, unlike many of the sardine tin cans you see today," he adds.

Lasse's perfect summer day:

"Being home in Stavanger, Norway's California, at sea in my boat, hot, sunny, no wind, and jumping into fresh saltwater."

Hitting full throttle at the start of every outing has become a ritual for Lasse, who compares the experience to a rocket liftoff. He loves the sportiness of the Enduro 705, enjoying the thrill of the initial burst of speed before settling into a touring pace at 30-35 knots.

After spending many years in traffic-heavy San Francisco, he appreciates Stavanger's open waterways. "There are no traffic jams," he says. The joy of being at sea, cruising on calm waters, and jumping across waves in his Enduro 705 fuels his passion for boating. Along with "the fresh sea air and beautiful mermaids," he adds with a smile.

What's next?

Looking ahead, his eyes glint with ambition: "Persuade Nordkapp to build a custom Enduro 705 with dual engines—becoming the fastest swan at sea."
