The Mercury Verado V8 300 hp engine sets new benchmarks in torque, acceleration, and fuel economy. According to Mercury's comprehensive testing:

Enhanced torque: The V8 300 hp Verado delivers 12-15% more mid-range torque (at 3500-4500 rpm) than its 300 hp competitor, providing robust performance under load.

Superior acceleration: The V8 Verado was 20% quicker in acceleration tests, from 0 to 17 knots under a heavy load.
- Fuel efficiency: It offers 8% better fuel economy at cruising speed, ensuring greater efficiency.
These tests were conducted using an 8-metre, 2-ton (dry weight) centre console boat and an 8-metre, 2-ton fibreglass multispecies boat.

Verado V10 tests

These acceleration tests utilised an 8-metre, 2-ton (dry weight) centre-console boat.
